Some stories begin with a dream; ours began with a craving. Coco Osteria is the brainchild of Shruti and Abhishek – partners in life, travel, and an insatiable love for food. Their journey started long before Coco, as they wandered through bustling food markets, hidden trattorias, and the cobbled streets of Italy, searching for that perfect bite. Their holidays weren’t just vacations—they were pilgrimages to flavors, textures, and culinary traditions that would one day shape their own restaurant.
During the lockdown, with the world at a standstill, Abhishek found solace in making Neapolitan pizzas at home. It was an obsession born out of necessity. Dehradun lacked not just a great Napoli-style pizzeria, but also a space where coffee lovers could find solace in a cup of well-pulled espresso. And so, an idea sparked: If they couldn’t find it, they’d build it.
In March 2021, Coco Osteria was born – a 20-seater intimate pizzeria that quickly captured the hearts (and appetites) of the city. Today, it stands as a 66-seater Italian haven, home to CinCin, its signature bar, and a beloved destination for authentic Italian cuisine, handcrafted pastas, and cocktail artistry.
After the world reopened, the couple flew to Italy- not as tourists, but as apprentices. Abhishek trained as a pizzaiolo, learning the delicate balance of flour, water, and fermentation, while Shruti mastered the art of artisan pasta-making. They returned, their hands seasoned with knowledge and their hearts set on creating something truly special.
