The Dehradun Food Literature Festival (DFLF) is India’s only literature festival dedicated exclusively to food, a cultural platform that brings together writers, chefs, historians, and thinkers to explore food as narrative.
Conceptualised and curated by Shruti Gupta, the festival was created with a simple yet powerful idea: to examine food not merely as sustenance, but as a lens into culture, memory, identity, and place. Over two editions, DFLF has evolved into a space for meaningful dialogue, where conversations are intimate, thoughtful, and deeply engaging.
Set in the Himalayan city of Dehradun, the festival draws from the region’s natural and cultural richness, positioning the city as a meeting point for ideas, stories, and culinary expression.
Designed as a curated and intimate gathering rather than a large-scale spectacle, DFLF places equal value on depth and exchange, creating an environment where conversations unfold with nuance, and where food is discussed with the seriousness it deserves.
